Our take on Independent Wellness
Most online weight-loss services route you to whichever clinician is free. Independent Wellness is the opposite: it is built around a single board-certified family nurse practitioner, Bonnie Lea Davis, who does the first video visit and stays your prescriber for the whole program. If you have been bounced between providers elsewhere and had to explain your history each time, that continuity is the main reason to look here. The flip side is scale: it serves only 20 states, listed on its homepage as Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Pricing is plain. Compounded semaglutide costs $99 for the first month and $199 a month after that; compounded tirzepatide costs $199 for the first month and $299 a month after that. There is no membership fee, unlimited provider visits are included, and the practice promises that the monthly price you agree to will not rise later. Microdosing and other options such as NAD+, glutathione and sermorelin are available on request, priced individually.
The program asks more of you than a click-to-ship service. Monthly check-ins are required: the first is a live video visit, the second and third months can be refill-only, and a video visit is required every three months. The practice recommends annual labs before starting, and its FAQ says some plans may include labs through Quest Diagnostics depending on the program.
