Our take on Hims & Hers
If you remember Hims as the place for cheap compounded semaglutide, the weight-loss page looks different in October 2026. Every option listed is a brand-name drug from Novo Nordisk or Eli Lilly: the Wegovy pill (including a microdosing plan), the Wegovy pen, Zepbound in both vials and the KwikPen, Lilly's Foundayo tablet, the Ozempic pill and Ozempic injections. We found no compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide anywhere on the program pages or in the FAQ, which now describes the lineup as FDA-approved medications. Mounjaro and Zepbound pens at full list price ($1,899 a month) also appear, but those are clearly not the products Hims expects most people to choose.
The cost structure is the part to understand before you click. Hims charges a Weight Loss Membership on its own line: $39 for the first month, then $149 every month after. Medication is billed separately on top of that. The published starting prices are $149 a month for the Wegovy pill, the Ozempic pill and Foundayo, $199 for the Wegovy pen and Ozempic injections, and $299 for either form of Zepbound. Those are starting figures for the lowest doses, so a realistic ongoing month on a pill is about $298 and on Zepbound about $448, before any dose increase. The fine print says plainly that the membership does not guarantee a prescription.
What the membership adds is mostly support and convenience: a personalized plan, 24/7 messaging with licensed providers, monthly follow-ups with a care team, side-effect help, dose changes, a members-only community, and a smart scale that ships free if you opt in (not in every state). There are partner perks too, such as discounts on HelloFresh, Factor and MyFitnessPal Premium+. Insurance is not used at all, which keeps things simple but means someone whose employer plan covers Wegovy will likely pay less going through that plan instead.
Hims fits a cash-pay buyer who wants a recognizable brand, a pill option and an app-first experience. It is a weaker fit for anyone chasing the lowest monthly total, because the $149 membership sits on top of every prescription. The terms require cancellation at least two days before renewal. If a prepaid medication supply has already shipped, membership cancellation waits until that supply period ends and the membership charges remain due. Stopping the medication subscription alone does not stop membership renewal. Hims also notes that GLP-1s are not yet offered in all 50 states.

- Signup starts with a choice of pills, injections or a provider recommendation, then a health intake that a state-licensed provider reviews; the first membership month is charged at $39 at checkout.
- The first membership fee is nonrefundable. An initial medication order may qualify for a refund if canceled within 48 hours of payment and before shipping; shipped medication is not refundable.
- Medication can be billed monthly or paid upfront depending on the plan you are prescribed, and only the medication portion is FSA/HSA eligible; the membership fee is not.
- FSA and HSA cards cannot be stored as the payment method on file, so Hims suggests paying by regular card and submitting the receipt from the Orders tab for reimbursement.

Two charges add up. The membership is $39 for the first month and $149 a month after that, and medication is billed on top: from $149 for the Wegovy pill or Foundayo, from $199 for the Wegovy pen, and from $299 for Zepbound. A typical month on a starting-dose pill therefore runs about $298.
Does Hims still sell compounded semaglutide?
Not on its weight-loss pages as of October 2026. The program lists only brand-name drugs: Wegovy pill and pen, Zepbound vial and KwikPen, Foundayo, and Ozempic in pill and injection form. If you want a lower-cost compounded drug, you would need to look elsewhere.
